Success surely means different things to all people.

For many, accumulating wealth or power are the signs of achievement. For many others there are different patterns of being happy.

Although continuous self-improvement is greatly rewarding, it’s nice to appreciate what we’ve already achieved.

Here are five signs that you’re maybe doibg better than you think:

 

1. You’ve done a lot of Progress already

When I was fighting to learn a lforeign anguage, someone told me: “Don’t you only think about how far you’ve got to go. Look back, and think about how far you’ve already come.”

This principle works everywhere in our live. Think about yourself from five years ago. What experience have you gained? Which lessons have you learned?

Outcome: You’ve done a lot of progress.

 

2. You Set Your Own Goals

Your business or employmnets may not be making millions, but you are very happy with what you do. Or, you have learned many valuable lesson that money can’t buy more time—so you spend as much of that time as you can with family and friends (or doing something what is important to you).

Establishing priorities is half the recipe for success. The other half is adhering to them.

 

3. You Like to Learn

You love to try new things. You don’t mind making mistakes.

Why? Because every new things you do in your life help you to better understand yourself, others, and the world around you. Mistakes aren’t failures—they’re only more opportunities to learn.

 

4. You Use Goals as Building Blocks

We try to measure success with the big things—graduating from school, earning our first promotion, even getting married.

But it’s the small, behind-the-scenes goals that lead to the bigger accomplishments: every passed test, every productive work assignment, a project finnished at work etc.

All great successes begin with smaller ones.

 

5. You Haven’t Given Up

One of the biggest keys and secrets to success is persistence.

A lot of people give up just before the finish line, or just before reaching the goal for which they’ve invested so much time, money and effort to accomplish.

But this is not you. You’re still here—day in, day out, moving forward, determined to leave it all on the table.

And that’s what makes you a success.
