Background History of the Company
In 1951, the company first started as a sole authorized agent of Olympia in Myanmar representing various office automation products such as Typewriter, Duplicator, etc. In addition, the company also manufactured and marketed stationary, furniture and food products from its own factory.
In 1953 Mr. Khin Maung Lay’s father in collaboration with German engineers invented the first Myanmar manual typewriter. This typewriter is still the most popular typewriter in Myanmar.
In 1964, the company work as Technical Representative of Olympia & Rex-Rotary.
in 1989, “Gandamar Office Machines Ltd” was re-established under the leadership of Mr. Khin Maung Lay and his spouse Mrs. Kyu Kyu, acted as a Managing Director of the company. Since then on Gandamar began its quest to
become the complete office automation and solution provider by obtaining authorized distributorship of various famous brands in the field of office automation.
