DB Schenker operates its legal entity in Myanmar on June 1 to run contract logistics and warehousing services, while the Yangon branch of Schenker Thailand will continue to handle freight, customs clearance and transport operations

DB Schenker in Myanmar was able to develop capabilities ground up with the support from the Thailand team along with the Asia Pacific regional team based in Singapore. The facility is already fully operational, supporting customers from the telecom and consumer sector. Plans are underway to further expand the warehouse and distribution capabilities in Myanmar and DB Schenker is sure to increase its footprint in the country in the near future.

Looking towards the future, the company has ambitious growth plans and looks to invest further in its network and service offerings to support its customer’s ever evolving supply chain.

DB Schenker has been operating in Myanmar since 1999, as the Yangon Branch of Schenker Thailand, providing freight forwarding services.

The logistics division of German railway company Deutsche Bahn has set up a fully owned subsidiary in Myanmar to work with customers in the telecommunications and consumer goods industries.

Job description
• Location: Yangon, Myanmar
• Reporting to: General Manager
• Reporting directly to Head of Sales, you will be responsible for current company free-hand business accounts and developing further free-hand businesses to achieve the
desired targets / requirements and other assignment from management.
• Evaluate the personal sales plan/strategy to ensure that the required revenue and shipment results achieved.
• Maximize sales growth from existing customers through the development of new sales, product marketing, and customer support strategies in line with targets assigned.
• Win, retain and develop medium-sized Business Customers through sales 'hunting' activity, correctly assessing the prospective account as Profitable, Significant or Strategic.
• Deliver agreed target and share objectives on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis; achieve monthly KPI’s.
• Actively pursue growth opportunities, by developing new clients and maintaining good relationship with existing clients.
• Act as the customers’ main point of contact, by liaising closely with the relevant departments within Schenker to ensure that their queries, problems or issues are dealt with appropriately.
• Ensures accurate compilation and reporting of operational and financial information about the customers.
• Constant communication with new customers, customer support and the Operations departments about relevant company policies, departmental expectations and customer expectations.
• Assist Sales Head in Analyzing and make recommendations based industry trends and other factors; forecasting sales growth and implementing contingency plan
Desired Skills and Expertise
• Bachelors in Business Study/ Economic.
• Requires minimum 3-5 years of field sales in freight forwarding/logistic or two years of operational experience.
• Fluent in English in both speaking and writing.
• Experience with logistics processes, systems, and solutions.
• Understanding of the customer’s specific requirements and customers market environment.
• Knowledge of international commercial transportation (air and ocean freight required).
• Comprehensive regional market knowledge (customers, competitors, suppliers, overall economic environment).
• Good personality with positive attitude.
