Job description
• Implement and draw up departmental SOPs and Project-wise SOPs with regards to safety and quality management and inspection procedures
• Prepare departmental budgets for approval by the Management Committee and ensure the departmental overheads stays within budget
• Prepare and maintain variety of departmental records, and reports as well as project records in terms of safety records and quality records
• Ensure departmental compliance of ethical and social code of conducts, laws and regulations
• Ensure departmental compliance of financial regulations
• Evaluate work performance and motivates subordinate staff to obtain high productivity, results and morale
• Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, enforcing policies , hiring and firing staff and developing skill sets
• Regularly meets with staff to exchange information, reviews project status and individual goals, and identifies new opportunities for improvement
• Prepare written agendas, summaries of issues and action plans for reviews by senior department leader and others as needed
• Actively involves in development work-flow integration procedures with other departments and implement them
• Support project team in client meetings to discuss with clients on effective safety and quality control programs specific to the project
• Support HRD department to participate actively in safety orientation of new recruitments as well as regular in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
• Work with Procurement team to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
• Ensure work process and method of statements meet adopted international standards and all national standards
• Looking for ways to reduce waste and increasing efficiency and advise to management and departmental managers
• Using relevant quality tools and making sure managers and other staffs understand how to improve the business
• Preparing health & safety strategies, quality strategies and interpret them as safety policies and quality policies as needed and solicits inputs from management, managers and employees
• Monitor compliance of safety policies and perform change requirements
• Carry out overall risk assessments of organization in terms of quality and safety to plan mitigation of exposed risks
• Outline safe operational procedures and conduct awareness training throughout the organization
• Recommend changes to working practices that are safe and comply with regulations to project team and management team
• Review customer requirements against quality policy and make sure the policy and standard of the organization meets customer expectation
• Keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements
• Recording of incidents and accidents and product statistics for Management review
• Being up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any development that affect the Company's industry
• Producing management reports, newsletters and bulletins with regards to HSE and Quality
Desired Skills and Expertise
• BE (or) ME ( Electrical / Civil )
• Desirable OSHA Certificate , WSO Certificate and other Professional Certificate
• At Least (6) year in relevant field
• Prefer - Other Engineering Experiences related with Power sector , Telecom sector and Construction works
• General Manager of Safety & Quality Control Department is responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and quality policies to help reduce accident-related costs, quality-related costs and prevent losses due to decline in productivity. Where appropriate, they advise on changes of work procedures and how to implement them and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.
