Ars မွ သတင္းမ်ားအရ Qualcomm ဟာ ဇန္နဝါရီလ ၁၄ ရက္ေန႔၊ ၂၀၂၁ ခုႏွစ္တြင္ Nuvia ဟုေခၚဆိုသည့္ ကုမၸဏီတစ္ခုကို အေမရိကန္ေဒၚလာ ၁.၄ ဘီလီယံျဖင့္ဝယ္ယူခဲ့ေၾကာင္း သိရွိခဲ့ရပါတယ္။ Nuvia ဟာ ၂၀၁၉ ခုႏွစ္တြင္ Apple semiconductor executive ၃ ဦးမွ စတင္တည္ေထာင္ခဲ့ေသာကုမၸဏီတစ္ခုျဖစ္ၿပီး Server မ်ားအတြက္ custom CPU core မ်ားကို ဒီဇိုင္းေရးဆြဲေပးေသာလုပ္ငန္းကို လုပ္ကိုင္လွ်က္ရွိေနပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္ Qualcomm ကေတာ့ Nuvia ရဲ႕နည္းပညာကို server မ်ားအျပင္ အျခားေနရာမ်ားတြင္လည္းအသုံးခ်ႏိုင္တာကို ေတြ႕ရွိခဲ့ပါတယ္။

Qualcomm ဟာ Nuvia ရဲ႕ နည္းပညာကို တယ္လီဖုန္းမ်ားမွ ကားမ်ားအထိ အမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးေသာ device မ်ားတြင္ အသုံးျပဳႏိုင္ရန္အတြက္ ရည္႐ြယ္ထားၿပီး သတင္းစာရွင္းလင္းပြဲတစ္ခုတြင္ Qualcomm မွ Nuvia ရဲ႕နည္းပညာဟာ “Next-generation 5G computing အတြက္လိုအပ္လာမယ့္အရာမ်ားကို ျဖည့္ဆည္းေပးႏိုင္တဲ့ CPU performance နဲ႔ power efficiency တို႔တြင္ step-function improvements မ်ားကို ျဖစ္ေပၚလာေစနိုင္မွာျဖစ္တယ္။” ဟူ၍ေျပာၾကားသြားခဲ့ပါတယ္။ Qualcomm ဟာ အဆိုပါ နည္းပညာကို “flagship စမတ္ဖုန္းမ်ား၊ next-generation laptop မ်ား၊ Advanced Driver Assistance System မ်ားနဲ႔ extended reality and infrastructure networking solution မ်ားတြင္ အသုံးျပဳသြားဖို႔အတြက္ စီစဥ္လွ်က္ရွိေနပါတယ္။

Nuvia ရဲ႕ chip မ်ားဟာ ARM architecture အေပၚတြင္ အေျခခံထားေသာ္လည္း ARM မွ မူပိုင္ခြင့္အျပည့္အဝရရွိထားျခင္းမရွိတဲ့အတြက္ Qualcomm အေနနဲ႔ Apple ရဲ႕ chip မ်ားနဲ႔ ပိုမို၍ေျဗာင္က်က်ယွဥ္ၿပိဳင္မႈမ်ားျပဳလုပ္ရာတြင္ အျမတ္အစြန္းမ်ားကို ပိုမိုရရွိေစမွာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ သတင္းမ်ားအရ အဆိုပါဝယ္ယူမႈဟာ အဓိကအားျဖင့္ ဉာဏပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈ (intellectual property) ကိုဝယ္ယူျခင္းျဖစ္ၿပီး Nuvia ရဲ႕ တည္ေထာင္သူမ်ားနဲ႔အတူ သူတို႔ရဲ႕ဝန္ထမ္းမ်ားဟာလည္း Qualcomm တြင္ ဆက္လက္၍ အလုပ္လုပ္ကိုင္သြားမွာျဖစ္ေၾကာင္းကိုလည္း သိရွိခဲ့ရပါတယ္။
