Financial Controller
Financial Controller supervises accounting activities of a company. It is often second in command within the finance team behind Finance Director. Financial Controller ensures financial reports are properly done and all accounts are documented in a correct way.
Main the role of a Financial Controller are:
- Preparing financial statements
- Compiling budgets
- Calculating profit and loss
- Preparing cost analysis and recommend on how the business should spend in more efficient way
- Presenting all financial reports and development back to the business
Can I be a Financial Controller?
Successful Financial Controller depends upon his/her numerical ability. You will need to have a passion for mathematics, and a close attention to detail. Multi-tasking and excellent decision-making skills are always crucial
Other key skills and attributes are:
- Excellent analytical skills
- Superior financial acumen
- Able to stick to strict financial deadlines
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills
- The ability to maintain objectivity at all times
- Working under pressure
Qualifications
Almost all Financial Controller positions require previous experience. Good knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices are also the main preroquisites.
