Financial Controller

Financial Controller supervises accounting activities of a company. It is  often second in command within the finance team behind Finance Director. Financial Controller ensures financial reports are properly done and all accounts are documented in a correct way.

Main the role of a Financial Controller are:

• Preparing financial statements
• Compiling budgets
• Calculating profit and loss
• Preparing  cost analysis and recommend on how the business should spend in more efficient way
• Presenting all financial reports and development back to the business

 

Can I be a Financial Controller?

Successful Financial Controller depends upon his/her numerical ability. You will need to have a passion for mathematics, and a close attention to detail. Multi-tasking and excellent decision-making skills are always crucial

Other key skills and attributes are:

• Excellent analytical skills
• Superior financial acumen
• Able to stick to strict financial deadlines
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills
• The ability to maintain objectivity at all times
• Working under pressure

 

Qualifications

Almost all Financial Controller positions require previous experience. Good knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices are also the main preroquisites.
