General Motors ဟာ လွ်ပ္စစ္ကားမ်ားရဲ႕ ဘက္ထရီမ်ားထုတ္လုပ္ႏိုင္ရန္ အဓိကလိုအပ္တဲ့ ပါဝင္ပစၥည္းတစ္ခုျဖစ္ေသာ Lithium ျဒပ္စင္မ်ားကို ဝယ္ယူႏိုင္ရန္အတြက္ အေမရိကရွိ သတၱဳသိုက္မ်ားတြင္ သတၱဳတူးေဖာ္ေရးျပဳလုပ္လွ်က္ရွိေနေသာ ကုမၸဏီတစ္ခုႏွင့္ စာခ်ဳပ္ခ်ဳပ္ဆိုခဲ့ေၾကာင္းသိရွိရပါတယ္။ 

General Motors ဟာ Australia ႏိုင္ငံအေျခစိုက္ Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR) ဟု အမည္ရေသာ သတၱဳတူးေဖာ္ေရးကုမၸဏီတစ္ခုရဲ႕ အေမရိကရွိ တစ္ခုတည္းေသာ အႀကီးဆုံး lithium brine အရင္းအျမစ္သိုက္တစ္ခုျဖစ္တဲ့ California ျပည္နယ္ Salton Sea Geothermal Field တြင္ျပဳလုပ္လွ်က္ရွိေနသည့္ lithium တူးေဖာ္ေရးလုပ္ငန္းမ်ားကို ပိုမို၍ အရွိန္အဟုန္ျမႇင့္လုပ္ေဆာင္ႏိုင္ေစရန္အတြက္ ေဒၚလာသန္းႏွင့္ခ်ီေသာ ရင္းႏွီးျမႇဳပ္ႏွံမႈမ်ားကို ျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့တာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ 

“Lithium ျဒပ္စင္ဟာ ေဈးႏႈန္းခ်ိဳသာၿပီး သက္တမ္းၾကာရွည္ေသာ လွ်ပ္စစ္ယာဥ္မ်ားကို ကြၽႏ္ုပ္တို႔အေနနဲ႔ အနာဂါတ္တြင္ ထုတ္လုပ္ႏိုင္ရန္အတြက္ မရွိမျဖစ္လိုအပ္တဲ့ ျဒပ္သတၱဳတစ္ခုျဖစ္ပါတယ္” ဟူ၍ General Motors ရဲ႕ strategy and cell engineering အတြက္ general director တစ္ဦးျဖစ္သူ Tim Grewe မွ ေျပာၾကားခဲ့ပါတယ္။
