A most important ingredient in Interview preparation is find out about ,,yourself,, so you would feel comfortable to present your self to the interviewer.
There are some areas to thing about and guidance. Discuss with your colleagues, friends, family relatives, in fact, with anyone you trust.
Do you know yourself:
- You the person
- Your skills
- Your limitation
- Your strengths
- Understand your achievement
You the person
When the candidates are asked to describe themself, they tend to talk about what they did rather than who they are. You should describe what skills make up your role and what makes you successful and different.
Key question for yourself:
- What have I got that makes me special?
- What is my added value for the organization?
To be successful, you need to make a firm impression and be different.
Your skills
It is very common interview questions, whilst apparently simple, require deep preparation and level of reflection. Try to answer this question honestly and spontaneously.
Key question for yourself:
- What can I offer for them?
- What are my skills?
Take some time to tell yourself about your skills, hear yourself saying them out loud without feeling embarrassed.
Your limitation
Most likely you will be asked about your week and development areas. Think of them as limitation or areas of improvement and look for positive ways of presenting them.
Key question for yourself:
- What limits me?
- What has held me back in my career?
- Under what circumstances have I felt most frustrated and unhappy at work?
Thinking about how to find a positive way to re-frame them.
Your strengths
Skills are only part of the picture. You have individual strengths, which will dictate how you do things.
Key question for yourself:
- What are strong points of my character and personality?
- In so far as I have succeeded, what has helped me?
Understand your achievements
Make practical way, create a list of all your achievements, all noticeable achievements that other people should know about you.
Example of you achievement:
- Problem solved
- Cost cutting management
- Results which improved
- A new skilled mastered
- Improving customer relationship
