• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation.
• Take responsibility for accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity , debt activity etc.
• Plan,implement and oversee overall accounting strategy.
• Create new internal accounting corporate policies and maintain existing policies.
• Monitor emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability.
• Develop monthly and quarterly accounting reports for the management and executive teams.
• Implement and monitor the month, quarter and year-end closeout accounting schedules.
• Collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements.
• Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning.
• Producing long-term business plans.
• Undertaking research into pricing,competitors and factors affecting performance.e
• Controlling income, cash flow and expenditure.
• Managing budgets.
• Developing and managing financial systems/models.
• Carrying out business modeling and risk assessments.
• Supervising staff.
• Liaising with managerial staff and other colleagues.
• Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
• Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plan and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
• Set up and monitor accounting methods,policies and principles.
• Recruit and hire new employees.
• Train new employees.
