Shwe Waa Coworking Space, Arts Initiative, Lifestyle Lounge & Creative Hub is a first of its kind, particularly for Mandalay. Shwe Waa brings under one roof, a place to relax on your own whilst reading a book, enjoy fast internet access or to meet up with friends, discuss, chat, shop a bit, enjoy some simple, hearty food or enjoy the roof top for a sunset view.

Its’ founders wanted to create an interesting space for students, ‘soon-to-be’ entrepreneurs, free-lancers, tutors and (language) teachers to come together, to develop their respective projects and to share ideas.

​Coworking is a style of work that involves a shared working environment, often an office, and independent activity. Typically, it is attractive to work-at-home professionals, independent contractors, freelancers or start-up entrepreneurs looking to reduce their initial costs. Coworking also refers to the social gathering of a group of people who are still working independently, but who share values and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with people who value working in the same place alongside each other. And so, it grants digital-minded individuals ranging from start-uppers and freelancers, to bloggers and social entrepreneurs the independence to work compatible to their rhythm and to network with like-minded folks.

The Arts Initiative aims to provide a showcase to young talent, and to make a space available to them where they can try new things and show off new techniques or styles, whilst adding an international dimension to their skills and training if they like to. It aims to widen their scope, provide them with new possibilities and extend their creative boundaries.

Therefore, a lot of time has been spent into decorating the Shwe Waa Lifestyle Lounge bringing together traditional, funky and funny in all its details. We mix local and less-local with fashion, arts, food & drink and turn it in to an ‘it’ place only for those who know to appreciate…

Lastly, we at Shwe Waa love pets, as one of our founders, named Bo Phyu, is himself a charming blond dog, so we welcome you and your sweet pet with his or her water bowl filled ‘on the house’.
