Payroll Administrator
Payroll Administrator makes sure staff members are paid correctly. And definitely on time as well. It means that Payroll Admin works with large sums of money and to strict payment deadlines
Main responsibiities cover:
- Calculating how many hours staff members have been working
- Calculating and deducting tax, national insurance and pension payments
- Adding any statutory payments necessary incl. sickleaves
- Incorporating additional pay, such as overtime, bonuses or salary increases in covered in employee contract
Is that a good job for me?
If you want to be good Payroll Administrator, you need to be good with numbersComplex calculations can be part of the job and you should stay calm and work on deadlines.
Flexibility, and strong communication skills are vital, too..
Other key skills are:
- Great attention to details
- Problem solving ability is a must and should be done quickly and efficiently
- Trustworthiness, discretion, and confidentiality maintanace are key as well.
- Proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Word, including Excel
Qualifications
Hving a degree is not required to become a Payroll Administrator. It is very good to have some qualifications specific to the industry with some previous experience.
