Malaysia is one of those nation-states that likes to mix it up a bit – put the Parliament here, the judiciary here and so on. Putrajaya, a purpose-built city 25 km south of KL, actually hosts the federal administrative apparatus. KL, however, is home to the head of state and Parliament.
9 million people, incredibly, the number of international tourist arrivals to Kuala Lumpur every year. Only Paris, London, Antalya, New York City and Singapore welcome more.
